Get to Know Me

Karen Godfrey has spent over three decades building a respected career in real estate while dedicating herself to the growth and well-being of her hometown, Clinton, Mississippi. Her journey reflects a lifelong commitment to people, service, and the place she proudly calls home.
 
Originally from Tennessee, Karen moved with her family to Clinton in 1967. She graduated from Clinton High School before earning her degree in Business from the University of Southern Mississippi. In 1994, she married fellow Clinton native Michael Godfrey, and together they raised three children: Matthew, Bracey, and Josey Kate.
 
Karen’s real estate journey began at Coldwell Banker – Godfrey & Wyatt, a brokerage owned by her mother-in-law. Under her mentorship, Karen soaked up invaluable experience and developed the foundation for her real estate career. After gaining further experience at several brokerages, she co-founded Godfrey & Ivy Realty, Inc. alongside Danny and Debbie Ivy. Although she hadn’t originally planned to own a brokerage, she and the Ivys were motivated by a shared belief that real estate should prioritize people—not just numbers.
 
When the Ivys retired, Karen took the reins and launched Godfrey Realty Group, where she continues to serve clients with integrity, care, and knowledge of the local real estate market.
 
In 2020, Karen extended her commitment to service by running for and being elected Alderman of Ward 1 in Clinton. Karen has served on the boards of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Clinton and was formerly involved with the Junior Civic League of Clinton. She is also an active member of Pinelake Church.
 
Karen brings the same heart and determination to public service as she does to her business—always striving to make Clinton a better place to live, work, and call home.
